Here at BrideBox, we want to ensure that you receive the absolute best wedding album that you could ever dream of. We understand that it can be confusing with so many different options and features to choose from. We’re here to help you through the process by answering the five most common questions about wedding albums.
1. What are the different cover options?
The album cover is the first thing you and your loved ones will see when you take the album out to enjoy. There are many different cover options to suit your tastes and needs. A metallic cover is made of a luminescent metal combined with genuine leather to create a modern, fresh look. A photo cover is where your favorite photo is printed on professional canvas cardstock in a glossy or matte finish. Then we come to the leather options. A genuine leather cover is comprised of three individual pieces of leather that are fitted to cover the front, back and spine of the album, while a premium leather cover is a single piece of high quality leather that is custom fitted to the album. These leather covers come in many different colors, including embossed covers that come in reptile or avian skin patterns. If you’d like, you can get the best of both worlds by choosing a photo printed leather cover in which your favorite photo is printed on a premium piece of leather that is custom fitted to the album. No matter your tastes, there is something for everyone.
2. Are there different page options?
Wedding albums are typically flush mount, meaning pages are printed as a single photo and then mounted onto a thick, durable cardstock that does not fold. These types of pages lay perfectly flat for an optimal viewing experience. You may choose from glossy, lustre or matte pages. Glossy pages have a shiny finish and beautifully display bright and vibrant photos, but may easily show fingerprints. Matte pages are duller, but have an overall more even finish. Matte is considered a very professional finish and it greatly reduces the chance for glare and fingerprints. If you’re unsure of which you want, you can try lustre pages which are in between glossy and matte. Lustre pages are not as vibrant or sharp as glossy pages, yet not as muted as matte pages. It is also considered a professional finish and reduces glare and fingerprints.
3. How much does a wedding album cost?
By far one of the most common questions we receive is how much a wedding album should cost. Professional photographers often include wedding albums as part of their all-inclusive packages which also include their shooting services and several other items. When they offer albums as an a la carte item, average prices range from $1,000 to $1,500 for a basic flush mount album. Of course, the average cost of your wedding album will vary depending on the quality of the features that you choose. For example, a 12×12 flush mount album with an engraved metallic cover will be more expensive than a 8×8 flush mount album with a printed photo cover. BrideBox Wedding Albums offers the same sizes and professional-grade albums with a variety of different options and features for a fraction of the cost. Our albums are guaranteed to be as beautiful and durable as any other professional-quality album.
4. How is the album bound together?
Flush mount wedding albums are individually handcrafted. The pages are photographically processed and manually mounted onto the thick, durable cardstock that does not fold. They are then assembled one by one and then attached to the hand-cut leather covers to create your stunning flush mount album. These albums are not mass produced by machines and are truly unique.
5. How do I take care of my wedding album?
It is important to take measures to help preserve your wedding album. By taking care of your wedding album, you and your loved ones will be able to enjoy it for years to come. Do not expose your album to extreme changes in temperature or humidity, as high temperatures can cause pages to dry out and become brittle while high humidity can cause pages to warp and mold to grow. Also avoid direct sunlight. Use a soft, dry cloth to clean off dust and dirt and if necessary, remove dirt gently with a damp cloth. When not enjoying your album, store it flat inside a protective case or cover.
