Part II: Before The Ceremony

(Continuing this week’s spotlight on the DIY Wedding Warriors: Kat and Nick Toman)

For our wedding ceremony, we had plans. But our wedding did not look like anything like the plans we had made. It did, however, turn out to be the happiest  day of our lives.

The “first look” photos were going to be taken in front of our home, an apartment building Nick and I manage, but because of the rain we had to move our shoot indoors.

Our photographers smartly suggested Milwaukee’s Knickerbocker on the Lake Hotel. This hotel is a romantic Milwaukee classic; it is close to our home; many of our friends and family members from out of town were staying there; and now it holds the moment Nick and I first saw each other on our wedding day.
